Zyncers Privacy Policy

Effective date: 7 October 2026 Last updated: 7 October 2026

1 Who we are and what this policy covers

Zyncers (FZE), registered at Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, operates Zyncers. You can contact us about privacy at connect@zyncers.com.

This policy covers the Zyncers website, early-access registration, mobile applications, and related customer support. Zyncers helps people coordinate Solo Trips and Group Trips, choose meeting points, share journey progress, discover places, and communicate during trips. The information processed depends on the features you use and the permissions you grant.

This policy explains how we handle personal information. It does not replace a separate consent or device permission required for a particular activity. Features not available in your version of Zyncers do not become available merely because they are described here.

2 Website registration and enquiries

When you register for early access, we collect your name, email address, and intended use of Zyncers. You may also provide your country, city, and comments. We use registration information to administer early access, manage enquiries, and communicate about your registration and the service.

We check for duplicate registrations and assign a Zyncer ID to new registrations. Submission timing and a hidden form field help detect automated submissions. Where confirmation emails or administrative notifications are enabled, registration information is processed to deliver those messages and manage submissions.

When you contact us, we process the information you provide, your contact details, and the correspondence needed to respond. Please do not send passwords, full payment-card details, or personal information about others that is unnecessary for your enquiry.

3 Accounts and information you provide

When you create or manage an account, we process the account and profile information you submit, together with authentication information needed to provide secure access. This can include your name, contact details, profile information, and account identifiers, depending on the registration method you use.

We also process information you enter when creating or joining trips, such as trip names, destinations, meeting preferences, invitations, and messages. Please provide another person's information only when you have the authority and a lawful basis to do so. An invitation does not, by itself, give you permission to monitor someone.

4 Location and trip information

Location is central to live travel coordination. With the relevant permission, Zyncers processes precise or approximate device location to show journey progress, support location sharing, calculate meeting points, and provide location-based place discovery. Location-linked trip information can include destinations, timestamps, distance, and progress.

Live-trip features may require location access while the app is not visible on your screen. Where background access is used, we explain that collection before requesting the relevant permission. Device permission settings determine whether background access is allowed. Permission to access location and permission to share it with other people are separate matters.

You can change location permissions through your device settings. Restricting access can prevent live progress, meeting-point calculations, or nearby discovery from working correctly. Previously shared or stored information is not erased merely by switching off a permission.

Location updates depend on connectivity, device settings, and operating-system restrictions. A displayed location or progress indicator may be delayed or inaccurate. Zyncers is not an emergency-response service.

5 Solo Trips and viewer access

Solo Trips involve sharing trip information with the viewers associated with that trip. Depending on the feature, viewers may see your identity, destination, location, progress, and messages intended for them. Review the intended audience before sharing a trip or invitation.

Do not share an invitation or access link with anyone you do not intend to receive the information. A recipient may save information, take screenshots, or pass information to others outside Zyncers. Stopping future sharing cannot retrieve copies already held by recipients.

6 Group Trips and meeting points

For Group Trips, Zyncers processes participant and journey information to coordinate the group and calculate meeting points. Participants receive the trip information and communications made available to their group through the relevant feature. Even where a feature shows progress rather than an exact coordinate, destinations, timing, or repeated journeys may allow others to infer location or routines.

Venue and meeting-point searches use the location or area relevant to the search, together with the preferences you choose. Opening an external venue, booking, or navigation service may transfer you to a separate provider whose own privacy policy applies.

7 Ghost mode and sharing choices

Ghost mode is a trip-visibility feature. Do not assume it disables all device location access, backend processing, or retention of information already collected. Read the explanation shown with the control and use your device's location settings when you wish to restrict location access itself.

Leaving a trip, ending sharing, signing out, uninstalling the app, and deleting an account are different actions. Uninstalling Zyncers does not itself delete your account or information held by Zyncers.

8 Messages and notifications

We process messages and related information, such as sender, trip association, and timestamps, to provide trip conversations. Messages are visible to the recipients or group members allowed to access the conversation. Avoid putting sensitive information in a trip conversation unless you intend the recipients to receive it.

Notifications may contain trip or message information and may appear on a device's lock screen. You can manage notification permissions and previews through your device settings. We do not represent trip conversations as end-to-end encrypted unless the relevant feature expressly states this.

9 Technical information and device permissions

Operating the website and app involves processing technical information such as IP addresses, request information, device or browser characteristics, software versions, and service or error logs. We use relevant technical information to deliver the service, investigate faults, protect accounts, and prevent misuse.

Where a feature needs an additional device permission, we explain the purpose when requesting it. You can manage permissions through your device settings. Denying a permission may make the associated feature unavailable. We do not treat one permission as authorization to collect unrelated information.

10 Why we process information

We use personal information to provide the features you request, administer accounts and early access, coordinate trips, deliver messages, respond to enquiries, maintain service reliability, prevent misuse, and meet applicable legal obligations.

Where consent is required, we seek it for the relevant purpose. You can withdraw consent through the relevant permission or preference control, or by contacting connect@zyncers.com. Withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal and may affect the feature that requires the information.

Where applicable law permits processing without consent, we rely only on a statutory ground or exception that applies to that activity. Providing a requested service is not, by itself, a universal exemption from consent requirements. We do not treat your use of the service as blanket consent to every possible use of your information.

11 Who receives information

We share information with the trip viewers, participants, and message recipients associated with the features you use. We also use service providers for functions such as hosting, data storage, authentication, maps and place searches, message delivery, and technical support. These providers receive the information needed for their respective functions, subject to the applicable arrangements governing their processing.

For the website and early-access registration, our published service arrangements include Vercel for hosting, Supabase for registration storage, and Resend for email delivery where enabled. App infrastructure and website infrastructure may differ. You can contact us for information about the providers relevant to your use of Zyncers.

Authorized staff and contractors may access information where needed to operate, support, or secure the service. We may disclose information when required by law or when lawfully necessary to investigate misuse, protect rights or safety, or respond to valid legal requests. A merger, acquisition, or restructuring may involve transferring information, subject to applicable law and appropriate notice.

12 Payments advertising and commercial use

Where you purchase a subscription or paid service, payment providers or app stores process the transaction under their own notices. Zyncers uses the transaction or subscription information needed to administer access, handle support, and meet accounting obligations. Do not send payment-card details to our support email.

We do not authorize the sale of personal trip location or message content through this policy. We do not use this policy as permission to disclose individual routes or conversations to venue advertisers, train general-purpose AI models on personal trip content, or introduce new behavioral advertising. Any new processing requiring additional disclosure or consent must be addressed before it begins.

13 Workplace school and organized trips

An employer, school, tour organizer, or other organization may arrange trips involving Zyncers. The organization may have its own responsibilities for information it provides and information it receives. It must explain its purpose, access arrangements, and lawful authority to the people concerned.

Participation in a trip does not grant an organization unrestricted permission to monitor you outside that trip. Where Zyncers processes information on an organization's instructions, the relevant service arrangements and the organization's notice may also apply. You can contact us to clarify our role or direct a privacy request to the appropriate party.

14 Children and supervised use

Family and school-related use can involve children's information, including information indirectly linked to a child. A trip following an adult driver is not the same as collecting location from a child's device.

For our India-facing privacy safeguards, we treat a person under 18 as a child, consistent with the definition in India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. This does not mean every age group is eligible to create an account or use every feature. Applicable age restrictions and the safeguards required for the particular service still apply. UAE child-protection requirements are assessed separately; a lower age threshold in one jurisdiction does not remove protections required in another.

Children's personal information must not be submitted or used through Zyncers unless the relevant feature supports that use and the required caregiver authority, consent, age safeguards, and other legal conditions are satisfied. An ordinary trip invitation or an adult account does not replace those requirements. We do not use children's information for targeted advertising.

We do not treat parental consent alone as permission for unrestricted tracking or behavioral monitoring. Child-location and school-transport features may be used only within a legally permitted purpose and the conditions applicable to that activity. We do not assume that describing a feature as safety-related or school-related automatically creates an exemption.

A parent or authorized caregiver can contact connect@zyncers.com to ask about a child's information, request correction or deletion, or withdraw applicable consent. We may need to verify the person's authority before disclosing information or acting on the request. Please contact us if you believe a child's information has been provided without the necessary authorization.

15 Retention

We retain personal information only for the period needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing the relevant feature, administering an account, resolving an enquiry, or meeting a legal obligation. The relevant considerations include whether a trip or account remains active, whether information is needed for an unresolved support or security matter, and applicable recordkeeping requirements.

Ending a trip does not necessarily erase the trip record or conversation immediately. Likewise, a privacy request may require verification before deletion is performed. We restrict information retained for a lawful exception to that purpose rather than continuing to use it for ordinary service activity. Residual backup copies are handled through the backup lifecycle and are not a reason to restore deleted accounts to active use. Contact us for retention information about a particular category of data.

16 Your rights and deletion requests

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access or receive a copy of your information, correct it, request deletion, withdraw consent, restrict or object to certain processing, or request portability. These rights can be subject to lawful conditions and exceptions. You may also have a right to complain to the competent data-protection authority.

To make a request, email connect@zyncers.com with the subject “Privacy request” or “Account deletion request” and identify the email address or account identifier associated with your registration. You do not need to reinstall the app to contact us. Do not include your password. We may ask for proportionate verification to protect against unauthorized access or deletion.

When responding to a verified deletion request, we delete account-associated personal information unless a specific lawful reason requires limited retention. We explain applicable exceptions or limitations and handle requests within the time limits required by applicable law. Information already copied by another trip recipient is outside our direct control.

Uninstalling the app, signing out, or stopping a trip does not replace an account deletion request. If you have a paid subscription, review the relevant provider's cancellation process; do not assume removing the app or requesting data deletion cancels renewal.

17 Security and international processing

We protect personal information through appropriate technical and organizational measures, including secure transmission, access restrictions, and authentication controls. Access is limited according to operational need. No online service can guarantee absolute security. If you suspect unauthorized access or a privacy incident, contact connect@zyncers.com without sending passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.

Zyncers is registered in the UAE, but service providers and authorized personnel may process information in other countries. Our registered address does not mean that all information remains in the UAE. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we apply the relevant safeguards. You can contact us for information about processing locations and safeguards relevant to your information.

18 Cookies and communications

Our website and its providers may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies necessary for site functionality and security. You can manage browser storage through your browser settings, although restricting it may affect functionality. Optional tracking requiring consent must not be activated before that consent is obtained. External services have their own privacy practices.

Registration confirmations, support replies, and necessary account or service messages are distinct from promotional communications. You can ask us to stop promotional emails by contacting connect@zyncers.com or using an unsubscribe option where provided. This does not prevent necessary responses to your requests or legally required notices.

19 Additional information for users in India

This section applies where our processing is subject to Indian law. Zyncers remains a UAE-registered company. Offering services to users in India, and processing information through Indian service providers or personnel, requires assessment under the applicable Indian framework.

India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 have phased commencement. As of this policy's update date, not all substantive provisions are in force. References below to statutory DPDP rights and procedures apply when the relevant provisions have commenced and govern the processing concerned. Applicable obligations under the existing Information Technology Act and related rules are assessed during the transition. This policy does not claim certification of DPDP compliance.

Where the DPDP framework applies, your rights include obtaining information about your personal-data processing, requesting correction, completion, updating or erasure, seeking grievance redressal, and nominating another person to exercise your rights in the circumstances provided by law. These are subject to applicable statutory conditions. This section does not describe portability or objection as general rights created by the DPDP Act.

For an India-related privacy enquiry or grievance, email connect@zyncers.com with the subject “India privacy grievance”. Explain the issue and provide the account identifier needed to locate your information. We may request proportionate verification. We respond within the applicable legal time limit. Where the statutory DPDP complaint process applies, first use our grievance process before approaching the Data Protection Board of India in accordance with the Act.

Where required, we provide an understandable notice of the information collected and its specific purposes, together with the relevant language choice. Consent withdrawal must be as easy as giving consent. Withdrawal affects processing based on that consent, subject to any separate lawful retention requirement; it does not retrospectively invalidate earlier lawful processing.

We remain responsible for processing we undertake through service providers. International processing is subject to applicable Indian restrictions and any other law requiring stricter protection. This policy does not imply that every category of Indian user information must be stored in India or that every overseas transfer is automatically permitted.

20 Changes and contact
